A history lesson

Check this out! Tourism New West (TNW) recently shared some info about the old BC Penitentiary, which is home to one of the city’s newest pubs. For those who are unaware, the building is located at 319 Governors Ct.

“The building was the original gatehouse of the Penitentiary built in 1878,” tiles on TNW’s Instagram account explain. “One of its legendary inmates was [The] Grey Fox,” the tiles continue—The Grey Fox’s real name was Bill Miner. According to the post, Miner escaped prison and was never caught again in this country.

TNW is teasing additional historical content, so you’ll probably want to follow their Instagram account for more!
